Water levels on Yan Oya and Kalu Ganga had begun to recede with the improvement of weather conditions, Department of Irrigation said yesterday.
Meanwhile, heavy rains which North Central and Eastern areas experienced during the last few days were expected to decrease in the coming days according to the Department of Meteorology.
Heavy rains caused a mini landslide in Matale on Wednesday causing partial damage to one house in the area.
Landslide warnings issued for Ratnapura, Matara, Kegalle and Kalutara remains according to Disaster Management Centre.
