The Government should reveal the force that is operating behind the controversial Colombo Port City project, Sinhala Ravaya President- Ven. Akmeemana Dayarathana Thera said.

Addressing the media yesterday he said the President himself,  the constituent parties of the SLPP, the Cabinet Ministers and people were totally unaware of the actual details of the Port City. As such, the Government must reveal whether that force was contemplating to sell, destroy the country or to eliminate the people.
“Therefore, the public should be aware of the project and that the Government should hold a referendum,” he said.   Ven. Dayarathana Thera said a seven-member committee  was to be appointed by the President to administer the Port City activities and had the right to change the members of the committee. He said that Parliament too did not have the right to question the President.

As such, the prelate requested that the administration of the Port City should be under the perview of  Parliament.
