The boy had been under treatment for epilepsy for several years

A school boy from Puliyankulama in Saliyawewa had drowned in a pool of water and his body was recovered in the early hours of last morning.
The victim H.M. Harshana Rukshan (17) of Mahagama in Puliyankulama was a student of Vidya Chakravarhi Maha Vidayalaya. Investigations revealed that the boy, with a relative and a villager, had spent the night in a hut to watch over his father’s Chena and in the morning he had gone to the pool to wash his face.
It was revealed that he had been under treatment for epilepsy for several years. When he had not returned for some time and the other two individuals had gone to look for him, they had found his body floating in the pool. The body was referred to the Saliyawewa Base Hospital for postmortem examination. Saliyawewa Police are conducting further investigations.
