Samagi Jana Balawegaya Prime ministerial candidate Sajith Premadasa yesterday reiterated his call to re-convene Parliament to discuss and decide measures that should be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“It is time all human beings come together to safeguard one another forgetting all differences,” Mr Premadasa said speaking to journalists after meeting Election Commission Chairman yesterday.
“I thanked the Chairman of Elections Commission for postponing the election,” he added.
Responding to s question as to whether SJB would halt the election campaign till the country returns to normal, he said one cannot think of campaign at this moment. “Can you get on with an election campaign when the whole world is facing a crisis?” he questioned.
Also, he said Sri Lanka should learn from the countries which had successfully controlled COVID-19.
