District Grant Project – Donation of computers and printer for the use of nearly 200 Sunday School children from low income families. The total project cost was Rs 388,000. Rs 152,500 was obtained from the District whilst the balance from the Club and well wishers. The project was initiated by Rtn. Ratnasoma Silva. Rotary Colombo Central President Thushy Ganesan together with Rtn. Ratnasoma Silva are seen donating the computers. Our Club donated pairs of shoes to the children at Karainagar Hindu College and Kaively Kanesa Vidyalayam in Puthukudiyiruppu both in the Northern Province. This was jointly organised by the Rotaract Club of Jaffna Peninsula. The project cost of Rs. 80,000. Both President Thushy Ganesan and President Elect Abbayan Vinodhan participated.
Dengue Prevention - Donation of 90 mosquito nets to the children of Nuffield School for the Deaf and Blind at Kaithady, Northern Province. The total cost being Rs. 81,000.
