Prasanna Ranaweera, the State Minister of Cane, Brass, Clay, furniture and Rural Industries who met rural industrialists recently pledged to have an in depth dialogue with the President and other relevant institutions on resolving several issues faced by them.
State Minister Ranaweera made a field visit and earlier met some industrialists to discuss the issues faced by them.
“ I will initiate a dialogue with the President, the Police, National Geological Surveys and Mines Bureau, Department of Forest Reserves and other relevant department to enable the rural industrialists to carry out their livelihood without any hindrance,” the state Minister said.
“ President Gotabaya Rajapaksa appointed a special ministry as he is fully aware of the importance of rural industries,” the State Minister added.
The industrialists informed the state Minister that they are facing issues in obtaining raw materials for their industries, while they were also faced with difficulties when it came to transportation of goods. They also wanted some laws changed saying they faced legal impediments as well.
