Navy conducts awareness programme on Islamic extremism

A programme to make naval personnel aware on Islamic Extremism was held at the main auditorium of SLNS Nipuna last week.  

This programme organised under the directives of Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Kassapa Paul, ran through the theme ‘Protecting the Muslim Community from Islamic Extremism’. The programme was conducted by Lieutenant Commander Tharaka Koswaththage and Lieutenant Commander Prashan Perera.  

Commander Southern Naval Area, Deputy Area Commander, Commodore Anura Danapala, Commandant SLNS Nipuna, Captain Chandima Silva were present at the occasion along with a host of senior and junior officers.
