The train services on the main line that had been suspended for more than three months due to the spread of the CORONA pandemic, resumed last morning.

Central Province Transport Superintendent Ananda Karunaratne said the “Podimenike” Express Train was put in operation from Colombo Fort to Badulla and from Badulla to Colombo Fort. He said all other trains on the main line will operate from January 25 onwards.

He said boarding of passengers to the trains would be subject to the instructions of the health authorities and that they should strictly adhere to the health guidelines when on board.
