Local tourists flock in hundreds to Nuwara Eliya

A heavy influx of tourists was witnessed in Nuwara Eliya during the week- end much to the relief of owners of tourist hotels.   

The managers of several hotels said the tourist industry had suffered a serious set back for more than a year and that the arrival of local tourists was indeed a boost for the future of the industry. They said tourist arrivals improved as a result of the public awareness programmes encouraging local tourists.
