Jewellery shop owner in Kelaniya shot and killed

Kelaniya police said that an owner of a Jewellery shop in Kelaniya had been shot and killed yesterday evening. The deceased has been identified as Puwak Danda Arachchige Sadurn (45) the father of two children who had been carrying on a Jewellery business in a shop in his own three storied building near the Nungamugoda junction on Waragoda road Kelaniya.  
Two suspects had visited the shop around 2.30 p.m. and one of them had grabbed the gold chain the deceased had been wearing, while the other had shot and killed him on the spot. Police had received information that the two gunmen had arrived on a motorcycle.The acting Magistrate of Mahara Wasantha Ramanayake and Assistant JMO of the Ragama Teaching Hospital Dr M.M.B.C. Gunathilleke visited the crime scene and conducted an inquiry. Further investigations led by the OIC of Kelaniya Police Sudath Walpola and a police team are conducting.
