Matale district SLPP MP Rohana Dissanayake has informed the Inspector General Police (IGP) to hold formal investigations of the ongoing Walla Patta cultivation in Puwakpitiya in the Knuckles range.
The Parliamentarian said he requested the IGP to arrest the racketeers responsible for causing extensive damage to the world heritage of the Knuckles range and to take action against them regardless of their status.
He has requested the IGP to look into the wanton destruction of the forest reserve.
