Government should not allow hatred among communities along with COVID 19, an SJB MP said over the weekend.
SJB National List MP Imtiaz Bakir Marker told a press conference that the government should follow the advice of medical experts when deciding whether it is going to allow burial of those who succumb to COVID 19. He told that the government should follow the advice given by Professor Malik Peiris of Hong Kong University, Professor Sherifdeen, Professor Tissa Vitharana and Dr. Pabha Palihawarna who had said there was no harm in burying those who succumbed to COVID- 19.
" Government should follow the advice of these eminent people and also the guidelines given by the WHO without creating unwanted issues. Sri Lanka is going to suffer at the end of the day if the government allows communities to spread hatred among each other," the MP said.
" One should not do politics using ethnic and religious groups as pawns," he also said.
