At least five Navy personnel were hospitalised after an SLTB bus they were travelling in crashed into a wall at Randombe in Ambalangoda early yesterday morning.

Police said at least 32 Naval personnel from Baddegama, Galle and Koggala who were on leave were travelling to Colombo in the bus when the accident occurred.

Investigations revealed that the driver of the bus might have fallen asleep at the wheel.

The police arrested the driver of the bus and the injured were admitted to the Balapitiya Hospital.

Meanwhile,  the others were later taken to Colombo in another bus belonging to the Ambalangoda Depot.
