India is yet to respond to Sri Lanka’s Cabinet decision to develop the West Container Terminal of Colombo Port with Adani Company, Daily Mirror learns.
The Cabinet took this decision on Monday. Cabinet spokesman Minister Keheliya Rambukwella announced it at the press conference on Tuesday. However, India has not announced its response to this.
India is disappointed after Sri Lanka decided to renege from the commitment by the previous Yahapalana government to develop the East Container Terminal jointly. The latest offer to develop the west terminal is viewed as an investment model with an Indian company, but not a government-to-government understanding.
