A programme to mark the 130th birth anniversary of prominent Sri Lankan labour rights activist A. E. Gunasinghe will be held tomorrow (May 1), near his statue at Gunasinghepura in Colombo 12 at 11.30am.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya National Organizer MP Tissa Attanayake will be the chief guest, whilst Parliamentarian Mujibur Rahman and Mayor of Colombo Rosy Senanayake will also participate at the event, which will be conducted under the patronage of Ceylon Labour Party Leader Vijitha Kadiragonna.
A number of social service activities have been organised to mark this event including contributing financial assistance to several sick persons in memory of late R. S. Kadiragonna.
