15 arrested at three brothels in Thalawathugoda

Twelve women and three men were arrested during raids carried out on three brothels which were being operated under the guise of massage parlours in the Thalawathugoda 
area yesterday.  

Police said the suspects were taken into custody following a search warrant issued by the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court.   

They said the arrested men had acted as the managers of the brothels. The arrested women aged between 18 and 30 are residents of Hanwella, Kesbewa, Kataragama, Passara and Gampola.  

They would be produced in the Madiwela Magistrate’s Court.  

Colombo Crime Division carried out the raid on the instructions of Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province Deshabandu Tennakoon.
