Born to righteous parents in the village of Kurukulawa in Ragama was my beloved aunt, Ciline. She grew up with honours and esteem.
Aunt Ciline excelled in her studies and graduated from Peradeniya University. Later, she took up to teaching. She served the education sector as a teacher for four decades, finally ending up as the Vice Principal of Gurukula Maha Vidyalaya in Kelaniya.
She was a faithful wife to Oliver Samaranayake, a dedicated mother to her daughter and son and a loving grandmother to three little ones.
After a brief illness, she passed away on February 7. She went on this journey of life for seventy three years spreading fragrance of rose petals.
It is with deep affection that I pen this eulogy to my dear aunt. I am thankful for everything she has done for me. May the fragrance of this rose spread to every nook and corner and may God embrace her with heavenly bliss to His eternal kingdom.
Nilmini Perera,
Waragoda,
Kelaniya.
