The High Commission of India, Colombo will be presenting young Bharathanatyam exponent from Coimbatore India, Aparna Nithyanand on February 8, at 6.00 p.m. at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre auditorium, 16/2 Gregory’s Road, Colombo 7.
Aparna Nithyanand was initiated into the art of Bharathanatyam at the age of 11 by renowned guru Nrithya Rathna Smt. Amutha Dhandapani, Founder of Bharathalyam Institute of Fine Arts in Coimbatore. She has gained stage experience by being part of many productions of Bharathalayam like Perur Sthala Puranam, Vasavi Vijayam, Ayodhya Kandam, Chidambara Kshetram, Panjamoorthi Nadanam. She has performed solo in many festivals such as Pollachi Tamizhisai Sangam, Thanjavur Chinnamelam Festival, Nadaneerajanam in Tirupathi and many more. Aparna makes use of all opportunities to learn the essence of different forms of classical and other dance forms. She is a final year student of Mechanical Engineering at Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology.
Entrance for the concert is free of charge.
