The hills of Kandy and Nuwara Eliya will once again be filled with the elegant and timeless silhouettes of automobiles of a bygone era as the Classic Car Club of Ceylon (CCCC) kicks off its 25th anniversary celebrations with the Heritage Hill Climb from the 9th-11th of September.
Organised by the CCCC together with event sponsors, Hayleys PLC, McLarens Lubricants Ltd and Frontier Automotive (Pvt) Ltd, the second leg of the Heritage Hill Climb will see participants drive to Nuwara Eliya where they will have the opportunity to navigate the historic Mahagastota Hill Climb.
The parade itself will be showcased in the CCCC’s 25th Anniversary calendar in addition to further photography sessions for each participating vehicle. Members of the Club will also be given an opportunity to run up Mahagastota Hill Climb, in their Classic Cars, finally culminating with lunch in Nuwara Elliya and a gala dinner back in Kandy later that evening.
Given the strong participation received at previous CCCC events and based on the enthusiasm expressed by its membership in the build up to the event, club officials anticipate that the Heritage Hill Climb will likely be the largest event for the club during the calendar year.
Established in 1992, the Classic Car Club of Ceylon has long been the Premier organisation that brings together people with a profound respect and love for Classic Cars. Consisting of a membership of over 250 individuals, the Club has established a reputation for consistently organising events that provide an innovative platform to showcase Classic Cars in Sri Lanka and exercise such vehicles within a safe environment.
