President rings bell to kick off capital market conference

Sri Lanka hosted its first post-war capital market conference yesterday at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel. Here President Mahinda Rajapaksa inaugurating the conference with the same bell that was used to commence trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange before it was automated on October, 14, 1997. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Dr.Nalaka Godahewa and Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal are in the background.
