Capital market regulator, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted a one-month extension to listed companies to release financial statements as requested by the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).
On or before 30 June 2021, listed entities are expected to put forward annual reports together with audited financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2020.
For entities whose financial year ends on 31 March 2021, interim financial statements for the last quarter must be put forward within the extension period.
The SEC highlighted that the concessions have been granted in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation and considering the requests made by listed companies as represented by the CSE.
