Another two patients aged 43 and 50 who are suspected of being infected with COVID-19 virus were transferred to the Infectious Diseases Hospital (IDH), Colombo this morning, Polonnaruwa District Hospital Director said.
He said the patients arrived in the country on March 11 and March 6 from Italy.
The 43-year-old patient was under medical treatments at the Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation centre, Polonnaruwa.
Later he had been transferred to the IDH as he was highly suspected with COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the 50-year-old patient was admitted to the IDH while he was on a family trip, the hospital director said.
"He had travelled to Nuwara Eliya, Colombo, Kataragama and Somawathiya and was suspected to be infected with COVID-19 at the quarantine centre at the Somawathiya temple," the director added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
