Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the nation’s leading Internet solutions provider, launched a special Avurudu campaign, which allowed all SLT broadband customers the chance of gaining access to social media absolutely free of charge during the peak of the Avurudu season.
The organisation’s Valentine’s Day promotion saw a very positive response as SLT offered free social media access to all broadband customers on February 14. Based on its success, SLT introduced a weeklong free access to social media campaign in celebration of the Sinhala and Tamil Aluth Avurudu festivities during the month of April.
The primary objective of the campaign was to promote the SLT brand through digital space, whilst at the same time cementing the organisation’s position as the provider of the highest volume of data, faster Internet and the best value worth of services, rewarding and also increasing customer loyalty. SLT presented its customers with nearly 2000 terabytes of free data during this promotional period.
SLT’s broadband customers were able to browse through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google +, Instagram, Tumblr, Flicker, Youtube, Twitch, Vine, Reddit and Pintrest without data consumption. The success of this offer was highly endorsed by the social media community of the country.
