The newest print of renowned author W. A. Silva’s celebrated novel ‘Vijayaba Kollaya’ is now available to coincide with the release of the popular movie ‘Vijayaba Kollaya’ which is now being screened to packed house.
The movie directed by Prof. Sunil Ariyaratne and produced by H. D. Premasiri, based on WA Silva’s 130s novel, featured Hemal Ranasinghe, Senali Fonseka, Ashan Dias and Chulakshi Ranatunga in the lead roles.
‘Vijayaba Kollaya’ was a prescribed novel for universities in 1940, 50 and 60 in addition to the GCE (O/L) exam from 1962 to 1964. The gripping story revolves around Portuguese invasion spiced with underlining elements of romance and also the longstanding unity among the Sri Lankans – especially between the Sinhalese and Muslims.
