Police have arrested a 19-year old youth from Kahatapitiya in Gampola for spreading false news on social media.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the youth was arrested while investigations were being carried out based on information received from the intelligence services.
The mobile phone of the youth has also been taken into police custody.
