Defence State Minister Chamal Rajapakse said yesterday he would look into whether there had been any overlook on the part of the CID officials who were investigating the complaints involving Udayanga Weeratunge.

He told this in parliament in response to a question raised by JVP MP Nalinda Jayatissa over the incident where a judge expressed displeasure over CID officials investigating Udayanga Weeratunge's case and transfer of the CID official who investigated the matter for the last five years.

Minister Rajapakse said someone cannot be termed a perpetrator just because a complaint was lodged against him and added that the matter should be investigated. He said he would give a detailed answer in parliament after obtaining information from relevant authorities. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
