President Maithripala Sirisena is reported to have rescheduled the weekly Cabinet meetings for 8.30 a.m. from next Tuesday onwards since the attendance had been low when it was convened at 7.30 a.m.

Initially, the Cabinet sessions had started at 9.30 a.m. but later changed by the President to 7.30 a.m.

The President informed the Cabinet yesterday that he wanted to conclude meetings as early as possible to enable ministers to get back to their respective ministries on time.

He said, however since the response was not positive he had decided to reschedule the meeting for 8.30 a.m.(Kelum Bandara)
