Waterfalls in the central hills have swelled creating a lovely and attractive sight due to the heavy rain experienced in the area over the last several days. Lapping sounds and the splish of water could be heard from a distance. Hundreds of local tourists were visiting St. Clare Falls, Kadiyanlena Falls and Devon Waterfalls almost every day despite heavy rain.
Representatives of the Upcountry Environmental Organisations stressed the need to protect the waterfalls that added to the beauty of the environment. (News and Pix by Shantha Chandrasiri)
