Centre for Monitoring Election Violence (CMEV) said they have received multiple reports of voters at polling centres in Buddhist temples including the Rambukkana Raja Maha Viharaya in Bandaragama being influenced to vote in particular ways by monks tying Pirith string.

there are less than 20% of the monks in sri lanka are with the rajapakse rogues.60-70% do not get involved in politics and follow the true path of the Lord Buddha.but those bad apples give a stinky name not only to other monks but also to buddhism as a whole
