Vavuniya city limits brought under 12-day isolation

Vavuniya city limits have been isolated for 12 days due to the spread of the COVID-19, Vavuniya District Secretary S.M Saman Bandulasena said.

Accordingly, steps have been taken to isolate the city limits from the Mundimuruppu Army Camp in Vavuniya to Thandikulam and from Mamaduwa Junction to Nelukkuma Junction.

The decision was taken after a special discussion held at the Vavuniya District Secretariat today.

He said, 129 persons have been found infected with COVID-19 subsequent to PCR tests conducted at various business premises in Vavuniya town so far. (Romesh Madushanka)
