It is so incredible that just now I watched the BBC news at 10 pm and accordingly it showed the killings, suicides, and dangerous infections in the rat infested over crowded Maximum security Prison in Mississippi in the USA. But back home in Sri Lanka the American Ambassador is advising the gullible Sri Lankan Minister about the shortcomings in the Sri Lankan prisons. This is laughable.

Perhaps the Sri Lankan Ambassador to the US should reciprocate the kind gesture and meet with the US Secretary for Justice and discuss overcrowding in US prisons particularly with black inmates.

This is a joke. Having a whole lot of shit going on in their own country the US now wants to finger with our prison systems. Anyway why did our minister have to discuss this subject with the US Ambassador

Who knows if US Ambassador has got a contract to get the SLankan criminal in the death row, Jayasekera out of prisons. Who knows if Ali Sabry is wanting a transfer to US. Anyway what has she got to do with our Justice system and Prisons?

Tiplitz again wants to train our judges like during Yahapalana Regime. Does her portfolio contain a close: Giving training to judges in the host country? probably she wants to influence our AG and SC to get green light to Infamous "MCC".

Best country to get advises !!! Prison rates in the US are the world's highest, at 724 people per 100,000. Countries with the largest number of prisoners, as of June 2020= USA 2.12 million people in prison.

The overcrowding prisons can be minimised by releasing all murderers

Dalit Prawasi Wednesday, 09 September 2020 04:03 PM

Yanks talking about prisons? Is she joking?

    E Fernando Wednesday, 09 September 2020 04:31 PM

They must be wanting to privatise prisons like in the US where it is run like a business. Probably with US companies. We don't need their advice.

Tell the US to mind its own business.
