UNP is opposed to the proposed 20th Amendment to the Constitution and will fight against it, as the party sees it as an attack on democracy, its Deputy General Secretary Ruwan Wijewardene said over the weekend.
“The UNP vehemently opposes this piece of legislation,” Mr. Wijewardene said.
“The Yahapalana Government was able to take several effective steps to ensure the democratic rights of the people through the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. It is the duty of all the people to come together in safeguarding the democratic rights they had won through the 19th Amendment,” he added. (Yohan Perera)

Fighting has lately become a tradition in this party. Anyway, better not to fight rather than loosing.
