UNP to sack SF, Ajith from working committee

The United National Party (UNP) has decided to sack its Kalutara District MP Ajith P. Perera and National List MP Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka from the party's working committee on the grounds of violating party discipline, sources said.

The committee is scheduled to meet today at the party headquarters in Sirikotha after the appointment of new members as the term of the previous membership expired on December 31.

Addressing a press conference held yesterday at Sirikotha, UNP General Secretary Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said old members except for one or two were appointed to the new committee. (Anjula Manika Weeraratne)

Ajith is useless. But Sarath Fonseka must in. This lead to divide the party.

Why only Ajit and Sarath? What about Sajith and his other supporters. Better to get rid of the lot so that Ranil can face elections and bring the party to a level slightly better than the JVP.

Those who violate the party's constitution should be kiked off. They are not doing any thing for the betterment of the party. Only thing they are doing is asking to give leadership to Sajith.
