Two suspects were arrested yesterday by the officers of the Colombo Crimes Division for accepting a ransom from a Buddhist monk at Moratuwa, the police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects had demanded Rs.2.5 million from the monk as ransom.
He said the suspects were caught soon after they entered the temple to obtain their first instalment of Rs.500,000 from the demanded ransom.
The Organised Crime Division officers arrested the suspects along with a car in which they came to the temple, the Spokesman said.
The Colombo Organised Crime Division is conducting further investigations, DIG Ajith Rohana added.

if monks voted RW and bribe money came from him, then it is "good news" and it will be published, but if he voted the govt and he became rich from bribe from govt, it will never be published.

This is only one half of the story, the other half would be to figure out why they had demanded ransom from the monk!
