Two persons have been arrested for maintaining a Facebook page and illegally treating the COVID positive patients and those under quarantine in Kesbewa.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said the suspects were arrested alone with a van following a complaint lodged by the MOH of Kesbewa.
He said further investigations had revealed that the suspects had received information about the COVID patients and those under quarantine through their Facebook page and had visited their homes for treatment without any authority.
They had charged Rs. 12,500 for treatment.
The suspects would be produced in the Kesbewa Magistrate’s Court today.
