Two Moulavis trained by Zahran arrested

Two Moulavis who had undergone weapon training under National Thowheed Jamaat (NTJ) leader Zahran Hashim at a camp in Nuwara Eliya was arrested today, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.

He said the suspects were arrested following information received by the Terrorist Investigations Division (TID).

The suspects are Mohammad Haneefa Mohommad Rizmi (28), the Mawlawi of the Jummah Mosque in Hettipola and Mohammad Nazar Mohommad Nimshard (29) the Mawlawi of the Jummah Mosque in Nikaweratiya. (Chaturanga Samarawickarama)
