The time announced for general public to hand over any illegal swords and Kris knives in their possession to the nearest police station have been extended by 48 hours.
The police on Saturday (May 4) have requested the general public to handover any illegal swords and Kris knives in their possession to the nearest police station before midnight on Monday.
However, the police headquarters extended the time until Wednesday midnight.
In the recent past, the law enforcement authorities seized a large number of swords and knives from various parts of the country.
