Three schools would be closed completely while another 24 closed partially from January 18 for scrutiny of 2019 GCE (O/L) answer scripts for the second phase, Examinations Commissioner B, Sanath Pujitha said.
He said that both, schools that were partially and completely closed would re-open on January 26.
The principals of all 27 schools had been advised in this regard, the commissioner said.
"The first phase of the O/L paper evaluation was carried out in 84 schools in 110 evaluation centres countrywide, covering 56 cities. Those schools did not start their first term on January 2, to conduct the scrutiny of GCE O/L answer scripts, as the first phase. Later they were opened for their first term on January 6," Mr. Pujitha said.
The three schools to be closed completely are:
Mahamaya Balika Vidyalaya, Matara - St. Anthony's College, Kandy and C.W.W. Kannangara Maha Vidyalaya, Kurunegala.
The 24 schools which would be partially closed are as follows:
Clifton Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Colombo 3 - Isipathana College, Colombo 9 - C.W.W. Kannangara College, Colombo 10 - Chandrajothi Maha Vidyalaya, Yakkala - Newstead Girls College, Negombo - St. Carmel Balika Vidyalaya, Chilaw - Tissa Central College, Kalutara - Vidyaloka College, Galle - D.B.Welagedara Central College, Kurunegala - Kuliyapitiya Central College - Kegalu Vidyalaya, Kegalle - Sri Rahula College, Katugastota - Uva College, Badulla - Anuradhapura Central College - Shanmuga Maha Vidyalaya, Kalmunai - Malharus Shams Maha Vidyalaya, Kalmunai - Vincent Girls' High School, Batticaloa- Batticaloa Hindu College - Vigneshwara Maha Vidyalaya, Trincomalee - Shiva Prakash Girls School - Vavuniya- Kokuvil Hindu College, Vavuniya- Jaffna Central College - Jaffna Hindu Ladies College.
