Three killed, two injured in a van-tipper truck accident

Three people including two women were killed while two others were injured when a van and a tipper truck collided head-on at Meegaswewa area on the Habarana-Dambulla main road last night, police said.

The injured were admitted to the Dambulla Hospital.

The deceased aged 33, 40, and 27 were residents of Kurunegala and Polonnaruwa.

The tipper driver was arrested by the Habarana police. (Kanchana Kumara Ariyadasa)

    No point in arresting drivers. Use your head and come up with intelligent solutions instead of letting people die at this rate. A totally ignorant and inefficient police department that is not at all suitable to this country. You will arrest him and bail him the next day. That’s where the problem is.
