A tense situation erupted opposite the Jaffna University last night during a protest staged by the university students against the removal of the Mullivaikal war monument from the Jaffna University premises.
It is reported that the tension spilled over when the protesters attempted forcibly enter the university premises.
The STF and police personnel were summoned to the site to bring the situation under control. (Romesh Madushanka)

The works of some idiots will go as headaches for the President and the Prime Minister. This is not like old days. The next second what is going on is seen worldwide. Tamil Nadu leaders and even British and Canadian politicians are voicing out. Army Chief had to tell BBC that his men was not involved in this kind of work.
