A tense situation was reported today during a vaccination drive held at the Western Dispensary in Kirula Road, Narahenpita.
Many people gathered at the main gate of the Western Dispensary to get vaccinated with the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVISHIELD vaccine.
Tension prevailed when people walked into the premises were not registered with the Health Ministry.
The Police officers and health officials explained the procedure of how to get the vaccine.
But people who gathered at the front gate did not even follow the health guidelines.
Most of the people who came did not register themselves with the Health Ministry to obtain the vaccine.

This is absolutely untrue. I was there. It was not the fault of those who came to be vaccinated. There was no system in place. Friends were let in through another entrance and the so called procedure was changed every 5 minutes.

Isn't this really crazy. One day to register and the next day for the jab and see the number of hours wasted. This could be done in one day if the officials are efficient with wasting the time of the public .
