Officials of the SriLankan Airlines have been summoned before the COPE Committee on February 19 to discuss the issue with regard to the Airbus deal, Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) Chairman Sunil Handunnetti said yesterday.
He said though the officials of SriLankan Airlines have submitted a request in writing to provide them with more time to further study the context regarding the matter of concern, as they are newly-appointed officials, the COPE Committee had rejected the request and asked them to present themselves on the 19th.
Mr. Handunnetti said since there have been wide criticism over the Airbus deal and it was previously discussed at the COPE committee, it was decided to call the national carrier to appear before COPE to discuss the matters relating to the controversial procurement issue.
He said that two reports pertaining to this Airbus deal have been presented to parliament by the COPE committee.(Ajith Siriwardana)

Dear COPE members, we all know Kapila and family is the one who thw took the money. But the key the current CEO along with two other Snr managers were recruited to sell the airline by Tilan Wijesinghe and Finance Ministry of the former regime. So be careful of this man, liar of the highest order. Now talking about restructuring.
