Special circular issued to ensure security in schools

The Education Ministry Secretary had been advised by its Minister to issue a special circular which aims at assuring the safety of school children and the school community at large.

Accordingly, the circular includes how to advise the school community, establishing security committees and procedures to enhance security in schools.

Eighteen factors had been highlighted in this circular on the procedure to be followed for security such as ensuring the safety of students when they enter and leave school, baggage checking as well as checks on school bags brought by children, confirming the identity of students, ensuring hostel security, adopting appropriate communication methods to inform the school community in any eventuality, setting up methods to ensure open lines of communication between parents and teachers.
