Schools in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara cannot be opened: GL

Schools in Colombo, Gampaha and Kalutara Districts cannot be reopened now, Minister of Education Professor G. L. Peiris told Parliament yesterday.
Responding to a question raised by Leader of Opposition, he said schools in Kuliyapitiya and Kurunegala also cannot be opened immediately.
Minister said decisions were made after broad discussions with the relevant stakeholders.
Also,he said the attendance in schools yesterday was only 51 percent. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardane)

Keeping the schools closed is not the answer for the covid-19 problem. Children tolerate the covid-19 much better. Let the infection spread among them and allow the herd immunity to be achieved sooner.
