Samagi Jana Balawegaya launched

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya was launched with the endorsement of the UNP Working Committee, its General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara said today.

Speaking during the launch of the alliance at Nelum Pokuna, Mr Bandara said the UNP Working Committee had endorsed the forming of the alliance and the appointment of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa as its leader.

"The UNP Working Committee has endorsed the forming of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya and appointment of Mr Premadasa as its leader,” he said.

“Also the Working Committee had also given the authority to Mr Premadasa to choose a General Secretary to the alliance," he said.

"We love the UNP and the elephant symbol. These are in our veins. Even my father laid down his life for the UNP," he said. (Yohan Perera)
