A public meeting attended by Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa at Ratmalana was attacked with stones last night.
The attack took place minutes after Mr. Premadasa began his speech.
Bodyguards surrounded Mr. Premadasa as stones were being hurled to the stage.
"Don't panic I will not leave this place despite the attack. I know whose behind this attack" Mr. Premadasa told the gathering.
Several leaders including former MP Hirunika Premachandra stood up from their seats when the stones came flying. (Yohan Perera)
