United National Party (UNP) presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa should make an official announcement to the country as to who would be their prime ministerial candidate, Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) Leader Udaya Gammanpila said.
Addressing a news briefing, he said the coordination between the President and the Prime Minister for the last five years had not been positive and cordial, resulting in chaos in the country.
“The 19th Amendment ended up creating two individuals holding executive powers. This situation made a monumental impact on the country in terms of mismanaging economic affairs and national policies, Mr. Gammanpila said.
“The country cannot afford to continue with this and thus the upcoming president and prime minister should be able to work hand in hand,” Gammanpila added.
He said the growing estrangement between Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickremesinghe led the country into anarchy.
Therefore, every candidate should announce their prime ministerial candidate who could work with the president collaboratively.

Has he already given up on Gota's chances? Or else what's hurry about Sajith's PM candidate?
