A 59-year old woman was arrested by the STF with 1 kg of methamphetamine (Ice) worth Rs. 10 million which was hidden in a house at Thalagala in Homagama yesterday, police said.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said, it was divulged that the arrested suspect is an associate of Rajagal Godage Sugath Kumara alias 'Asitha', a major drug trafficker in Colombo.
The suspect, a resident of Kirulapona was handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB).
The raid conducted by the team of STF personnel, led by CI Nadeeka Silva following an intelligence alert. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
