Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) had called for written explanation from four of its MPS who voted in favour of 20th Amendment before December 30, its Secretary Nizam Kariapper said in a statement yesterday.
“This decision was taken at a special meeting of the party seniors on Sunday with its Leader Rauff Hakeem at the Chair,” Mr. Kariapper said.
“This special meeting of the office bearers of the SLMC was held to discuss issues pertaining to the four MPS voting in favour of 20A, their subsequent conduct and the current political situation. After listening to the explanations given by four MPS namely H. M.M. Harees, Faizal Cassim, M.S. M Thowfeek and Nazeer Ahamed the other members too, expressed their views,” he said
“It was then decided that the four MPS must give their explanations in writing to the party leadership. It was also decided that the written explanations should reach the party Secretary and the Leader before 30.12 2020. The decisions as to what further actions to be taken against the said MPS will be taken by the party thereafter,” he added.
Meanwhile, MP. Cassim, when contacted by Daily Mirror, said they are currently engaged in a dialogue with the SLMC leadership to sort things out. (YOHAN PERERA)

The Party seem to be scared of calling for explanations from the defiant MPs. Best thing is for the MPs to say 'go and fly a kite ' to the Party hierarchy.

No point for any explanation as all the politicians are the same. They will do anything for money. Everything has happened and now what explanation. Are fooling the voters.
