Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is reported to have met Executive Director of the Counter-Terrorism Directorate of the United Nations, Michele Coninsx and her team yesterday and discussed the preparation of a counter-terrorism strategy.

Sources close to the Prime Minister said Sri Lanka would seek necessary foreign technical assistance and the treasury would be asked to release the necessary funds for this process.

Masood Karimipour (UNODC), UN Resident Coordinator Hanaa Singer, Leila Ezzarqui, Adria De Landri, and Gita Sabharwal were the other UN members who were present.

What a fool we have as our Prime Minister. When the whole Western World was telling us that the Tigers are invincible, we proved them all wrong by using our own forces to eliminate the terrorists. When we have such a force, do we need a female Western security expert to give us any advice or assistance to deal with the present threat ?
